Christy Copeland attended and graduated from Tyler Junior College with an Associate Degree. After graduating from Tyler Junior College, Christy transferred to the University of Houston-Victoria and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. 

She went on to receive a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Tech University Health Science Center. Christy is licensed by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor to practice Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  

Christy Copeland is the founder of Cope Land Counseling Center in Longview, Texas, where she provides compassionate, solution focused therapy to adults, couples, and groups using both traditional talk therapy and creative modalities such as music, art, and movement. 

Christy is also a published author of seven inspirational books, including The Invisible Cape, and is deeply committed to helping individuals achieve emotional, spiritual, and mental wellness.

As an innovator, trendsetter, and highly sought-after speaker, coach, and workshop facilitator, Christy Copeland has been featured on national platforms across the country, including Maryland, Indiana, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Florida. She has delivered keynote addresses at distinguished events such as The Big Texas Rally for Recovery, the Tyler Junior College Black Excellence Gala, Troup High School’s National Honor Society Induction Ceremony, and the Tyler Area Alliance of Black School Educators’ 3rd Annual Yellow Rose Gala. In March 2025, she served as a professional expert mental health speaker for MD Anderson Cancer Center—one of the world’s most prestigious hospitals—and as a presenter for fellow clinicians at the Kilgore College Substance Abuse Conference in 2025.

In recognition of her leadership and impact, Christy was crowned Woman Queen CEO in March 2025 and received the Level Up Award from Mrs. CEO in August 2025 for her entrepreneurial excellence. She was also featured on the CBS 19 TV News special for Mental Health Awareness Month (May 2025), honored as the Covergirl for Women of Dignity Magazine, and named one of the Top 30 Trendsetters Among Women by K.I.S.H. Magazine.

She is the visionary of the EmpowHER Organization, Inc. The EmpowHER Organization supports women's transformation by strengthening, encircling, and uplifting one another by cultivating an environment where women are not only supported but also empowered to thrive in every area of their lives. The EmpowHER Organization, believes that when women come together in faith, love, and purpose, transformation happens.

In Christy's spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, exploring new experiences, and spending quality time with her husband, Terrell of 25 years, and her family.
